The Green Bee is an original story, by Kristianna Smith, inspired by the real Green Bee indigenous to the Americas- the Agapostemon!

Jada has been having trouble fitting in- she wants to work out her feelings about the chaos of a world that doesn't seem to like difference. So she writes a story! 
In it, Aggie (an agapostemon) is different.  She's green...and lives in a community... and dances. Honey is bee-fuddled by Aggie, having only ever heard of yellow bees and strict order within the hive. When these two meet they set the whole community a-buzz and challenge us all to see a world of mutual flourishing!
